I drive screen update

Is there a software update for the i drive-ipod screen to let me see album titles as well as song title and artist which is all I see now. 08 550 non nav. model

Wow a 08 550 without nav? I thought every owner opted for the nav in the LCI 550. Sorry for the off topic post.

Not possible as far as I know. Album art can be supported with 2010 cic hard drive based navi with combox that was offered in 2011. Perhaps with third party adapters you can display album art with old or cic navi.

text is not possible on 6.5" IDrive (non nav). For the 8.8" (w/ nav.) there is Dension GW51MO2. The ultimate solution is CIC nav. retrofit + Combox

Sorry to jump in here like this but I was planning on buying the Dension GW51MO2 for the USB input. but u saying it will not support text on NON nav unit? I have a 2007 525i NON Nav. That would kill it for me. never mind not able to see cover arts on ipod.
