So today I was driving and got a warning saying the Oil was at an extreme low add one quart...So I rerouted my trip and drove straight home...The Service tab in Idrive shows i still have about 2000 some odd miles left until my oil change yet i got the warning...I am currently at 10,000 and some change...I do drive it like an ultimate driving machine....some input guys...

Your engine will consume some oil (especially when new); this is normal if it occurs infrequently.

For example, my car needed another quart at about 3500 miles.

Just add a quart of the recommended synthetic and follow all other service guidelines.

When was your last oil service? How many miles does the vehicle have on it now?

I'm at 18k and am due for my second oil change as per my service indicator. It seems on my 5, I'm due about every 9500 miles, but I don't recall my having to add any oil since I got the car except for the oil change.

Add a quart, and don't expect the warning to go away immedietly either.

Got the same warning at 10K. I brought to dealer for another problem (frozen service clock) that was fixed with CIP upgrade. My SA says this warning has been common and fixed by either adding 1 quart (usual remedy) or fixing faulty sensors. In my case, I only needed to add 1 qt.

Had the same light - also, after parking at the airport for a couple days the low coolant level light came on for a few miles. Brought the car in for MP3 update, told my SA, they added oil and coolant - sent me on my way. Guessing that is part of the free maintanence we have here.
