this bugs the life out of me....
on start up the high idrive screen shows the 4 way menu, now when i select nav and choose perspective (or whatever) not route guidance...just nav (map) displayed on the screen every thing is fine untill i stop and turn off....then when i get back in and start up again, it goes back to the 4 way menu, and if i want the perspective view (or whatever) i have to load it again....why cant it return to last viewed screen or my preferences???
bugs me.
if i wanted it to stay on map, i would have to select a route, is there a way round this??
thanks guys.

I think this is a software issue. Mine used to do that then I got an update and now it starts up on the last viewed screen. Not sure of my version but I'm sure Mr Rudy can chime in with when this feature became available.

I got the same annoyance  ..... it can only be solved by a full software update by your dealer

ok, just found out that if i push the controller to the right (nav) gently, and hold it there for 4 seconds...it goes back to the last screen/setting i had it on before turning the car off....excellent, saves me 3/4 moves.
happy days.

I think if once restarted and at the 4 ways menu you just push the idrive knob to the right and hold it, it will go back to the map.
..yet that will also depend on soft rev..
