i know there were topics on this issue before but i could really clear any issues for myself from what was posted, maybe im dumb? . but it froze and i couldnt do anything, no option no menu just a warning on the dash, i turned the car off and on and nothing still after about 20 min of driving it rebooted and all was normal. should i be concerned, does anyone know what it is? or is just a matter of computers being computers, should i notify the dealer, any help that could shed some light would be appreciated from you fine bimmer gents i guess thats what i get for praising the i-drive to all my friends who read the bad reviews on it!

BTT: Do you remember what your were doing when it froze? I was dialing thru my phone at the same time it was trying to connect via BT. Screen froze, went blank, then restarted all with 2 minutes. Didn't even need to stop and cut the engine/car off then on...

I had the same prob once. I accidently made my alarm go off while doors where open. Everything froze on screen and the iDrive knob spun loosely n freely. After driving for about an hour and trying to figure out wtf happened, it all came back to normal after a simple arm and disarm with the doors closed.
