I-Drive / Aftermarket Compatibility
#1
Gutten Tag All,
I'm a new member - Just purchased an 04 530i with i-drive (smaller screen, CD player, no navigation). I love the car but desperately want upgraded audio. Is there a way to tie-in an after market head unit into the i-drive system without harming any of it's original functionality.
Thanks!

You don?t indicate what country you are in but given that you wrote ,,Gutten Tag`` I?ll guess it?s not Germany or Austria.
The basic answer is no but it would also be advisable to indicate what audio system your car comes with (three choices as of 2004, standard, Hi-Fi, and Logic7).
What you could do is upgrade components such as peakers and possibly even amps.
