My Ride: 2007 550i
Greetings all,
As of two weeks ago I am the proud owner of a 2007 550I CPO, and let me tell you I am now a BMW fan for life. I have been into various sports cars my entire life, but I am over-the-top impressed with this car. Right now I have a mint 2001 convertible corvette w/less then 30K miles in my garage as well, that is awesome, and now I am ready to sell it. The 550 is just an incredible car all around. A joy to drive, and just awesome.
I hope to be a significant contributor here much like I was on the vette site (and I have already offered up some info on the "other" BMW site regarding IPOD integration, etc, as that is one of my skills).
Anyway, pictures are coming soon - WAHOOO!

Welcome to the forum! I have the same car ('07 550i w/ sport).
You will find a lot of useful information here. Just stay away from the "Parts Accessories and Mods" section. You will find yourself reaching for your wallet and pulling out your credit card without even realizing it.
Congratulations on the new ride!

Thanks everyone - and yep, already been in the mods forum and going to enter into a GP on a Sprint Booster v2. In addition, the car was pretty well equiped, and I have already purchased a 16gig ipod that I leave in the glove box since it has the ipod AND mp3 option (and running it via the idrive just ROCKS!!! Just incredible all around.
I think in the next few months I am going to paint my calipers as they look pretty rough to me, and I have already researched in the DIY for details, etc. I painted my vette's and they turned out great. I also did slotted and drilled rotors on the vette but I don't think I will go that direction on the 550. BTW, I have actually been a lurker for over a month, but now I will be active.
Thanks for the warm welcome all!

Ok, here is a picture the dealer took:
It came with a ton of options: Sport Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Active Steering, Sunroof, Navigation System, Logic7 Sound System, IPOD and MP3 option, and more. I just love driving it. I took it to my local dealer and had them check a few things. Everything came back fine, but to me it has that drive-by-wire throttle lag (I asked them if I should reset the transmission but they said no...I figure perhaps they did it, but I don't know). It has 43,000 miles and warranty expires in 11/2010. I was thinking about extending the factory warranty (even though it is CPO), but it already had brakes recently done and oil and new tires, and I figure I am good for doing both of those when the time comes so I will probably save the money.
Anyway, just wanted to show off my baby!
Thanks all,
DaveR
