Anyone have any ideas what I can do?? I really hate to try to maintain my car every 3 seconds.? As soon as you get something fixed, something else happens.?

Am I able to put any type of a windshield on the car or does it have to be from BMW?? Do I have any other options as this point????? :'(

Hi Saurabh,

The deductible for winhshield is not $500. It's only $100. Please call up your insurance agency and find out. $500 deductible is for collision, etc, but not for windshield. I had my windshield hit my a small rock and the crack spreaded across the windshield. I had it replace by StarLite glass with $100 deductible.

I hope this help.

It dependes on how your policy is written up.I went from $500 deductible to $100 on the comprehensive because the price of OEM windshields are so high and they are even higher if you have HUD and they seem to crack very easy on BMW's.
Good luck
cheers

Following with Interest, as a weekend excursion to Reno, NV produced a gravel rock to hit my windshield, and now have a large unrepairable crack.

I also have the HUD windshield, so I probably don't have too many options beside BMW. :'(

Just called the dealer, and ran my VIN and said they have a windshield in stock, $348 plus installation.

I don't think that they are right though, as they had only one part number for the windshield, and thought that there was a different number for the HUD.

Can anyone confirm the part no. for the HUD windshield??

They gave me 51317070294.

Called the dealer back, and they could not find the part number, , so called another dealer, and they had to dig deeper, but came up with the same number that E60speed gave me above.

Acutally had to look at the Euro car, not the US. Price $423 US plus install and tax.
