Its placement and action, are perfect!
I find its effect on pickup and release to be very predicatable, I hope I don't doze away while driving.
Very convenient especially after a long day's work home, making one of those taking it easy drives so much more enjoyable.

Excellent design on the cruise BMW people. Well done.

I agree. But the only issue I have is with BMW moving it to the left side. I liked it better on the right side. Either way.... this design is more intuative than what is used in 95% of cars today.

Lucky that you can use it,
I got it and never can use it in HK, roads are too short to use it, even on the bypass have to brake alot. the only road that I can use it is going to the Airport and that once in a blue moon.

I liked it better on the right side too.

Although it works okay now, I prefer the design from the past where there wasn't two "off" postions and a seperate resume switch. Why did they have to change that?

I seem to keep grabbing it instead of the indicator! The one thing i really dislike about it and all other CC's i've used is that when you 'resume' your speed the car launches to get to it as quickly as possible rather than gradually!

That's exactly why I don't understand why BMW moved it from the right side of the column...

It's much better than the wifes Toyota. That thing is binary, when you resume cruise (manual or active laser) it's full speed ahead at 5mph resolution. It's not pretty when you hammer the little 3.3L Toyota/Lexus VVTI V6 at highway speeds. It seems the BMW, while agressive, will ramp up the throttle.

I'm still having some trouble getting used to cancel being up/down. I think it was a push/pull on my old 540.

In the good old days, cancel used to be pull, resume used to be push...
