hydraulic warning light on

It's called pentosin 1.1 and you get it from the dealer, it's about 20-25 dollars a can. When u open the hood look to the left, u will c a conenical shape cannister.

On a 545i, the hydraulic fluid is in a cylindrical reservoir located on the left side of the engine bay directly behind the rectangular-shaped coolant reservoir. The type of fluid is CHF 11S, and this is stamped on the top of the reservoir. It seems the brand of choice is Pentosin, and comes in a green painted metal 1 Liter can.

thanks guys, I'll look for pentosin. So I can't buy it at any other place besides the dealer?

I'm glad I found this thread as this has happened to me twice in the last month. I'll mention it to the service writer next week when I go in for service.
