My Ride: 550i Olivin Green w/Beige Interior, smg, sports package, nav, hud, comfort seats, sirius, cold weather pkg, fold down seats, rear heat and airbags
The HUD seems to work with polarized light. Problem for me is that it seems to be the wrong orientation for my Maui Jim sunglasses. If I put the sunglasses I can't see the HUD. If I tilt my head 90 deg. it is just fine.
I would think that all sunglasses handle polarization in the same direction. If so then my HUD is 90 deg off from how is should be sending the light. Is this fixable? And does everyone else with HUD have this problem?

The same thing happened to me. I had to switch sunglass brands. I found a Fossil pair thant works, so that's what I wear now. Try a few pairs because some do work.
Good Luck!

I recommend Serengetti non-polarized driving glasses with lighter tint at the bottom. Beautiful results.
