My Ride: 2006 E60 530 xi six speed manual/Silver gray-auburn/18inch-style123wheels/premium sound and package/HUD/PDC/sport/coldpackage/Sirius/M-aero kit/Nav/comfortseats/shades/comfort access
tires: 245 40 18 Sottozero Pirelli winters (non runflats)
2004 RX330 Lexus - crystal white - reliable, quiet, and the "beater" car for ski trips, hauling, etc.
1995 E34 540i 6 speed black/truffle interior/alpinemp3/XMradio/M5 alloys (Many tears...sold to a fellow Boston bimmer enthusiast!)
I think it is the same for NA vehicles -
I can't wait to see mine - the carve-out on the dash for the HUD is pretty impressive-if the M5's system is any comparison
Does anyone know if the names of streets are displayed on the HUD during the NAV ?

When it comes to Nav I think the Hud is awsome. The Nav has a serious flaw at night...there is no "Night Mode" where everything goes black and roads are lit up in white and so on, this is something that should have been implemented a long time ago, I mean the could put a moon & few stars above the perspective horizon. But at night it is same as day and that is Bright @ Night. I have had a Nav since 2000(Aftermarket Kenwood & upgraded every year) and Night mode was standard since then.
Anyways the Hud is perfect @ Night for Nav because you set up Nav and then go into a different Idrive Menu and the HUD displays everything you need, and its easier on the eyes rather than looking at a Bright screen which shows Day instead of Night.
Sorry for the rant, I just think our Nav is seriously behind on that.
Peace

So can it display almost anything on the dash like what gear you are in? For an SMG car, that could be a huge plus displaying the gear you are in and what mode you are in.
Great pics by the way.
