So yesterday and into the night I did the HUD retrofit, and everything is there except the HUD windshield. I did the install in my parking garage so it was pretty dark the whole time and there were no issues with seeing the display on the non-HUD windshield. I went for a quick drive today and the image completely vanished the second I got near the sunlight, and the brightness is all the way up. Now I know not having the HUD windshield is my problem, and I will be getting that fixed in the next day or two - but for those of you running a proper set-up, is the HUD viewable on a bright day with your windows down?

Take a look at post #532, depending on the weather but I assume HUD is visible even in bright sunny day.

Hi,
It will get visible even in the brightest sunlight once you replace (and code) your rain-light sensor (RLS).
HUD cars have a different one, check the online catalogue.
You can also tune the brightness of the red and green diodes through INPA., but only after you replace the RLS.
Cheers,
Straba

Thanks for the info guys!
Straba - I did put in the updated rain/light sensor but I did not code it. Should I just code it with a blank .MAN with $610 in the FA? I did notice today that my auto lights stayed on all the time even after I drove in the sun for 30 minutes - so I will assume the RLS is my issue..
Off to code! Will post results.
