-   -   How to show fuel usage on instrument cluster... (https://5series.net/forums/e60-discussion-2/how-show-fuel-usage-instrument-cluster-87770/)

I have no idea how to do this, but when I first bought my car, there was a little reading on the cluster which showed average fuel usage in the form of, ie: 12.4 L/100km
Now I've noticed this has somehow disappeared recently and replaced with a temperature reading. Anyone know how to get my fuel usage reading back? I've literally
pressed every button inside the car in every sequence imaginable - but no go. Anyone know whats going on?

Hi, Yezero! On the indicator stalk are two buttons, one says check and other - I think! - is B/C. Press this button in continuously and it should give you distance remaining on fuel left in the tank, average speed and fuel consumption. By keeping this button in for a few seconds in any of above readouts, you can cancel the particular reading and start afresh. Hope it solves you problem!

Hello Zero ... which is how much we (at least I) know about what you drive.

Tell us about your car. Model year in particular.

Also, once you find how to view it on board, it is best to compare it with actual pump usage over an extended period. Mine is consistently over stated by at least 1/2 GPM.

it's the lower button on the indicator stalk. Just toggle it until you see the MPG indicator.

And you can actually customize the readout and display the same info on iDrive (Onboard Info) ... it's all in the manual!

I guess you want MPG rather than L/100km anyway. You need to go into iDrive settings to select .Also, ensure that under "units" that you select US mpg,not UK mpg. When you toggle the lower button on the indicator stalk it shows average speed,or average mpg,or miles to fill the tank,or blank. As stated already,it's all in the handbook.

My average mpg was out because the wrong units were selected in iDrive. You have the choice of UK mpg or US mpg.Have you checked in iDrive?
