Hi,
after a few hours searching online for the above issue with no luck, I have just joined this forum today and thought one of you guys might know the answer...
I have a xenon angel eye headlight assembly unit and the headlight bulb has turned pink(believe it has "burnt out") so I successfully removed the headlight assembly and managed to remove the bulb from the casing.
The bulb (I think is a D2S bulb) is attached to a silver metal box which I believe is the Ignitor unit for the xenon bulb.
I cannot seem to remove the xenon bulb from the ignitor unit meaning I cannot change the bulb. I have managed to remove the black 'O' shaped surround from the bulb but that's it .
Is there an easy way to remove the xenon bulb from the small ignitor unit?
the image shown is taken from google and is not the exact same part but it shows the bulb separate from the unit which i can't manage to do.
Thank you
Rebecca :-)

if you rotate the ignitor it should release off of the bulb allowing you to access and remove the bulb from the headlight. when you go to reinstall the ignitor on the bulb, you need to make sure that the retainer ring inside of the ignitor is oriented correctly. use a small blade screwdriver to move it into place. it's a pain in the neck....

I think everyone is a bit confused here.
OP - in your car, it uses D1S bulb since the ignitor is part of the bulb. What you found online shows an adapter to use D2S and they can be separated. So unless someone prior to you, installed D2S bulb with the adapter or aftermarket bulbs, then you can twist them apart if possible. My guess is , the bulb you have is OEM and it's either Philips or Osram (D1S) which I have not seen where the ignitor separate from the bulb.
So if you want a replacement, get D1S bulb. Unless you have some D2S bulb already and would like to use them in place of your current, then get the adapters.

I thought they were D2S bulbs by comparing a photo on the web however as per your comment, they are D1S bulbs and I will just buy a replacement D1S unit.
Thanks for your help everyone!
