The previous owner changed the windshield of my car, luckily he put an original BMW E60 one but who ever did the job, didn't do a good job on the pillars. The fabric is peeling off from the bottom (not sure if this is a common issue) but I would like to remove the pillars, tighten and glue the fabric on properly so it looks good again.

Anyone done this before?

Has nothing to do with windshield replacement. On every BMW i've owned and from every other i've seen the pillars suck. I think BMW has a long way to go with their interior, just sucks that way.
Anyway carefully take a small flat head screwdriver and remove the HPS cover. you'll find a star screw, i don't remember the size..I want to say T20 but dont remember. Undo this and then you and pull the pillar at the top. Carefully, with hands only, pull it away from the frame. It's connected just like the doors by the little plastic snap-ins. once you have it disconnected it will not want to come out easily at the bottom, you have to carefully angle it at a 45 degree and rock it out while decreasing your angle. To reinstall just reverse steps
