Default How often to check for coolant level?

My 2008 528i has the "Coolant level low" light ON, I will get the OEM coolant and fill it up tonight. The car was last serviced in Feb 2016, so it has been 14 months, and I have put on 3K miles during this time period. I am curious, how often to check for coolant level? and any other recommendation to check for regular intervals? My car has 90K miles on it? Thank you very much !!

You should not have to check the coolant level. Either it was not filled up in Feb (assuming you had a drain or fill done) or you have a leak. At the check intervals you should only be checking to see if your fluids need to be changed not if you are running low.

you will be fine. It seems like you have a leak in your reservoir. Just add water (distilled if you have it). I assure you that the engine has coolant in it or you would of ran hot. Add the water look for a leak. If it is the reservoir go online to buy one dont pay the dealership to do it. It can be replaced in less than 15 mins with a few tools.
