Seems like the battery on my 08 535i is dead. BMW of Monrovia quoted me something like $536.00 for new battery, coding, etc..
How much might an Indy shop charge?
Thanks in advance.
P.S., as a side note, the dealer just replaced the water pump in my car last Thursday, and now the car wont start. They say its totally unrelated, just a bad coincidence. Plus, battery is not covered under warranty (I'm at 39k miles). Sucks.

I got an exact match at Batteries Plus for around $200. Installed myself and did not "register"

IMHO even if your "driving profile" = >10K miles per year there is NO REASONABLE PERSON who should expect battery failure in a $65,000+ Luxury Car at 3/4 years / 39K miles.
As for the coincidence of repair and dead battery ... If your dealership left your car in an "active state" for 3-4 hours the repair might have taken it's 200% possible that caused your battery to go flat. Merely leaving the key fob in the car or a door open prevents your car from going to sleep and reducing battery drain. Coincidence - I think not
