How Much Did You Pay for Software Update?
#1
Hey everyone,
My 2004 525i (build date 06/04) with navigation is currently at CIP 19.02.03 (Nov 05), which is apparently just one update short of the version that allows MP3 playback.
How much did it cost you guys to update your softare? I've read here it's a several day update... could be costly?
Please chime in...
Thanks!

My updates were free. 1st one was manufactured by me to get Automatic aircon functionality ( which it didnt have on early software for some bizarre reason ). I told dealer that I drive occasionally froze & it was reloaded/updated no questions asked. This resolved that issue & gave me MP3 on UK business SatNav. Almost 2 years ago now. But that particular software broke to headlight LEDs, so I had to go back a month or so later to get another software load. It is probably old now, but I have all the functions that I need, so happy to leave it well alone.

Hey,
I am very new to the E60 scene thus I am not sure that the CIP upgrade would enable MP3 function... I just got that impression by reading the attached document...
So no one has answered the question, how much did you guys pay for the update?
Thanks!

Are you sure that CIP upgrade will enable the MP3 playback in your car ? Where are you located in the world ? If you are in USA then other posts in this forum saying that car built in 2005 and after can be enabled via CIP upgrade not the car built in 2004. Otherwise, I would have the MP3 playback function last year. MY car was built in 9/2004 - 10/2004. If you are in Europe, that would be different.
