I have been driving since 1956 and have owned many cars, mostly high performance cars(muscle car era),but none of them are as fun to drive as my 545.I am hooked and will no doubt be a BMW driver forever more.

It is amazing the passion these cars stir up. I remember being a kid and my father owning a 5 and I just loved it back then, now when I look out at mine I think wow he was on to something.

My car is one week old today and I still just shake my head and smile every time I drive it. For those of you that have had your 5's for longer periods of time does this feeling go away, or does your car still bring a smile to your face. After looking at the Acura RL, Audi A6 and Gs350 I am so happy with my decision to go with my heart and get the 530i.
Its a daily love affair.

Like this morning. Did my usually triple take as I leave my car on the parking deck. Today was especially cool because there were nice sun reflections on the Bangle creases. Boy do I need help.

I think it gets stronger over time. I keep noticing new things that reinforce my decision and make me smile. It makes it really tough to drive the wife's car, or a rental on a business trip.

It's a great car, but sadly the affect wears off sooner or later. Other than the car itself, I think it's partly the newness that got me at first. The e60 is now just a mode of transportation, nothing more. :tear:

The diary of a E60 540i lover:

Day -2 : Dealer called up to tell me car is in their workshop and going through delivery prep. Invited me to have a look - it was like getting the phone number of a hot girl who said "...call me" and gave me a wink!

Day -1 : Restless in bed. Can't sleep. Can't eat.

Day 0 : Heart pounding quickly as I approached the dealership to pick up my car. Touched it for the first time and it was like giving your date the first kiss.

Week 1 : I knew this baby has a lot of potential, but being a new relationship one has to take it easy. You gotta break it in y'know

Week 2 : Had to travel interstate. Already missing my baby. Had a Ford hire car and it was like going on a bad date. Once you've tasted the sweet lips of a goddess nothing less is acceptable.

Week 3 : Started to go on long cruises. Lotsa foreplay but never followed through. Had to remind myself so many times that I have to break her in first

Week 4 : Nearly 2000kms on the ODO and it was time.... my girl has been broken in and now it's time to really "ride" her . Pushed it as far as I dared and she didn't dissapoint. She purred and grunted as I pushed her buttons but kept the ride steady. Who needs a Pro Logic 7 when you have a V8 engine rumbling through to your loins!! She was built for this! She was sex on wheels!

1st Nov 06 : My baby is feeling neglected. It's my fault..I've been too busy. Time to make it up. Have to organize another outing for a long, hard, sweaty, passionate drive
