There tends to be 8 out of 10 e60's that I see on the road are M-Sport, as opposed to SE, and gotta say, its a rare occasion that an M5 can be spotted in sunny South Yorkshire ha.

I have style 123 and sports package as well, so no not all sports package 5ers have a staggered setup as stock

So maybe that's why the car is so neutral in it's handling, no staggered wheels? Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one that has this wheel set up. I am still curious about what exactly is included in the Sports Package. So far I know it's shadowline trim and lowered suspension. That's about it. I assume that all SP cars have the sport, three spoke, steering wheel?

I think the staggerd setup started in the 2008 cars with the sports package.

And by the way, to confirm if you have a Sports Package, you firstly look at the exterior for the following -

1. Side skirts, they extend outwards compared to the SE;
2. Front and rear bumpers are different;
3. Wheels - now this really depends on the car (some people just modify their cars [like me] and hence the alloys maybe different) but look for an 'M' badge below the BMW badge in the alloys (usually);
4. SOMETIMES people would have included an M-tech boot spoiler. Stock "Sport Package" option does not include it;
5. Some cars have the carbon fibre lips included;
6. The car is lower by 15mm but again, if the car was modified, it could theoretically be the same! BUT, people usually lower their car further. Mine are 25mm lower!

Interior -

1. M-tech sport steering wheel (or it might be stock or just normal Sports steering wheel) depending on the car! It could have been modified later;
2. Seats are usually Sports Seats or Comfort Seats. But again, if the car you're purchasing was modified later on, then it could be stock or different seats. Mine are Active Seats;
3. Just above the side skirts when you open the door, it's usually got M-badge instead of "B M W". But again, this could be either depending on the modification.

The above are most if not all the things to look out for in the "Sport Package" E60 5 Series! Hope that helps!

Oh, and to answer the topic, I'm from Melbourne and I see MOST 5 Series are Sport Package cars especially LCI 5 Series!

Best way to tell Sport models is to check the following:

Exterior: Sport Bumpers front and rear, SE models have red reflectors on the rear bumber whilst Sport bumper does not, Side skirts and of course M alloys, these can be 18in MV style (not staggered) or can be 19in 172M Spider style (staggered) - also Sport models are de-chromed - facelift LCI models have high gloss shadowline. Boot spoiler is optional so not all sport models have them.
Now someone could quite easily fit a sport bodykit to a SE model so check the interior for the following:

Anthracite headlining (interior roof of car is a soft black/grey colour)
M Sport steering wheel (should M logo on the lower part of the wheel)
Sports seats - should have leg support
M door entry strips

Again someone could fit these to an SE model - so 2 things to check...firstly the anthracite headling as this is hard to replace/fit - secondly...check the cars registration document...if it is a factory sport...it will say so

BTW i live in London....see loads here ! hope the info helps
