how many air filters on e60

how many air filters on an e60 520d from 05?
i know of the 2 cabin filters that look like this:



but i keep finding this one too:



is that the 3rd and where is that one located?

The 2nd picture is a K&N Engine intake filter. the top one is a cabin filter, you need 2 of them.

Other filters? hmmm.. Oil filter?

yeah the intake one, where is that one located on the car?

The air intake filter locates on the right side of the engine (530d in the pic though):

When standing in front of the car, it is on the right hand side. Should be black box if OEM. Unclip the hold downs all the way around and voila! There it is. This is for the 525i...don't know which e60 you have.

Well, he asks it for a 520d.
In diesels the intake air filter locates on the left side of the engine when facing the car (the pic above).

cheers guys.
anyone know if this K&N air filter
is any better than the standard ones? or about the same?
need to change the MAF so its probably a good idea to change this filter too right?

i assume the intake filter you just pop off the engine cover (+ the other cover) and can get to it right?
