It recently started getting cold here in Chicago and I think I have noticed that my car is taking a longer time than normal to warm up and produce hot air from the heater.

06 550i - no winter package. It seems to take a good 10 mins in 35degree weather to reach its full warmed up temperature.

This seem normal to you guys? Possibly heater core leak?

I think there's been posts about how it feels when it's coming out towards the driver .. this never seems to "feel" real warm to me. If I stick it on defrost/out of the front of the dash I feel it pretty quick and it seems a whole lot warmer. Try running that.. I feel heat within a minute or two doing that.

That is pretty normal. It takes my car, 08 528i about 15 min to reach the full warm up temperature. I asked about this several times on the forum and it seems like everyone's car takes awhile to warm up. This is only on cold start. If I drive the car for a few hours and stop for a few hours and then start it up again, it will be warmed up within 5 min.

I had a heat problem... it would take forever to get any heat. After some research here and there I took a stab at replacing the Thermostat. Fixed the problem and heats up in 5-10 mins.

Mine's about 5-10 minute on a cold start assuming I immediately start driving. Takes a while longer if I just sit in it without driving.

ASAP... Mere seconds, even...

Also, check your vent settings- you may still have cool air blowing out your main vents.

LOL- No doubt! We can just roll our windows down for instant heat.

But, the last couple night have been in the 30's (32 - 37), and she's heated up swiftly.

I have the same problem, and I'm also in Chicago. I am spoiled because my son's old Crown Vic police interceptor, which cost me less than a good set of new rims, blows hot air in about 18 seconds on the coldest mornings. Maybe I'll have the dealer check the thermostat...
