I live in the country and in the South. We drive through our yards here. My neighbor drives through my yard to get to our other neighbor's house. I drive through my yard to get to the storage building. My dad drives through my yard when coming to my house from his because it's a more direct line than using my driveway. It's just what we do out here in the country. This evening I discovered that grass sets off the park distance control alert. This is how I know that BMW engineers are not rednecks. Clearly they did not drive around in the grass while testing the system. How remiss of them! I mean what if I was driving through my yard and came upon a monster truck tire lying in my grass? The PDC wouldn't even pick it up since the grass would already be setting it off. This is a real risk, people! Be warned to use extreme caution when driving through your yard in your E60!

Maybe the grass needs to be cut!

I've got grass here (nope, not the other kind) and it doesn't set it off.

The PDC only reacts on certain predefined types of grass, derived using a very complicated German equation, so I believe BigMike should send in a sample to Munich to get the grass in the next upgrade.

That's funny. When I had my ML sport ute, I'd drive through my brother's yard to get home. Our yards connected near the back, only difference is this is in a subdivision. Both of our yards are decent sized for being in a subdivision and to go home I'd have to go around the long way to get to my house which is at the end of a cul-de-sac. Through our yards it was 15 seconds. The others neighbors hated it though, I think it looked a little "country" to them. So I only did it once in a while.

Something is very strange here...very out of whack...something just ain't right. I think "bimmerlust" is an imposter...SAYS he is from the south...I'm not so sure... You see, I also live in the south...and i can tell you for sure, that nobody in the south uses the the term "remiss"... we would just they "fu&#ed up"...

That wasn't the grass! It was that old '78 Camaro you have sitting on blocks in the grass!
