My Ride: An 1994 Ashamed-Mobile Partially Loaded, Leather. Radioless, Heatless, Gas-needleless.
Default

Hi Forum, still doing research here, trying to narrow down interior leather colors. This is where I am so far before I get to the question.
Although black leather will be easier to maintain, due to my two year old. I think I will pay for it in the summer with heat issues. Although I could get a lighter tint, (I hate dark limo tint) And the black leather will help with the darker inside appearance.
Gray is nice, but with a Titanium Silver Exterior It would look rather cold and sterile.
My heart is really with the beige leather. It makes the car look warm and welcoming. But then again I have a two year old. And dont worry about eating and drinking in the car, its not going to happen. I'm concerned with nicks and scuffs from shoes. I would be extra careful but others that may get a lift may not be.

So the question at hand is, how is your (insert color here) leather holding up?
Is the color you opted for, easier or harder to maintain than you thought it would be?

There are so many color schemes available, If possible, so that I may get the true look, could someone post photos of the car with the door open so that I may see how each color will look with different exteriors.
(I've browsed through the gallery, and bmw's website. There are no photos taken from this angle. Its just so that I cn see how the exterior compliments the interior.)

Thanks you very much for your time.

I'm running with titanium silver and grey dakota leather trim without any issues.

It's not cold or clinical - but rather light, airy and crisp.

Makes the car seem much bigger insider too when compared to the darkler alternatives, IMHO.

Gray--easy--no problem. Black wouldn't be too hot even with light tint. Get what you want; all will hold up IMO.

I've always had black. I don't find it to be that hot at all....I personally don't like BMW's tan at all. I think black is the best with Titanium Silver..JMHO..

I ahve had tan on my 39 and after a few years it didn't look great. I now have black on both cars and really like it. not hot at all unless coupled with a dark exterior.

i got black for the same reason. I have a 3 yr old and the most important thing you can get is a back seat protector from walmart or target. My wife found an eddie bower black seat protector and it matches so well you cant even tell. Youll thank me later. I live in las vegas and the heat here gets crazy. I figure ill get some light tint and hope for the best. good luck with your choice youll love it what ever color you choose,

I've had grey with my '99 E46 and now have black with my 545i. I think both suited my expecations. The grey leather did make the interior seems larger/brighter and black does hide dirt better but I did not think one choice had the edge on the other in my opinion. Either one was fine for me and I went with black simply for a change of pace.

Auburn here, no problems so far.

Even though I really like the colour, the fact that it came with black backsides on the driver and front passenger seats was a big plus, since I have 2 (very active) young boys on the back seats.

The beje setup is somehow sensitive to heavy use with jeans and other indigo like colours, but all the dealers have a special leather cleaning and "humidification" service, that returns the original look to all leather types.

I use it once a year, after the summer, and it's good value for money (50 EUR).

Cheers.
