Hi folks,

Tried to search for "warning sound", "bing-bing" and "notification sound" in this forum, but no such luck. Hence, my question to you now:

Q: How do I disable the warning notification (e.g. key in ignition/car off; door open...etc.) with my 2007 E60?
I do not have the capability to "program" anything, e.g. using a 3rd party tool (or whatever), and there does not seem to be anything I can shut off in iDrive... but I'm sure there must be a way to get rid of this nerve-wrecking (useless) sound!!
I thought about pulling a fuse to stop it, but there does not seem to be single fuse for "warning sounds", or whatever. The one I found actually would disable other functions as well, and I don't like the idea of pulling any fuses unless they need replacement...

Am I the only one complaining about this "bing...bing...bing...bing" torture? Help, please!
-- Thanks!

P.S.: Sorry for the typos in the header...

Why would you want to do this? Our cars have the coolest "ding" sounds!

A local performance shop can program it out, had mine done here in socal... Took them 5 minutes

Hope this brings you some hope, the "ding" is beyond annoying going thru the speaker system...

This.

I don't understand why people would have the key in the car and have the door open for extended period of time.

***there are a few individuals as well as shops that offer "remote" coding as well....just another option to you if you cannot find a local source

Tons of good reasons, nomis!
Most importantly, the radio doesn't work w/o the key being in the ignition... Sucks if you want to work on the car but can't leave the door open w/o being "ding-ding-ding"-ed to death.

I'm not this old yet. I can very well remember to buckle up or switch the radio off - without that @'^@#%%#!^* sound!

Thanks for asking though...

That's not true at all. The radio can be turned on without the key, lol.

Try it.
