How do you take out the cell phone box?

Hey all, I've had my new ride now for just over 2 weeks and have been loving every minute of it! Although there is one thing that I can't figure out! When you open the center console it has that black box that I guess can hold a cell phone but I want to take it out so I will have more room...I read in the manual that it can be done but I can't get it out! 
I didn't want to break anything trying to get it out but it's gotta go!
Any suggestions?!

The easy way is to use a hacksaw. Another E60 member did this and it looked nice and clean.
