I I think if i deactivate the auto and then activate it again it will automaticly turn on the snowflake button. But what for?

The snowflake satnds for that the A/C compressor is on.

It dries the incoming air in the winter time and therefore avoids moist on windscreen.

But -10 C air is very dry itself and the there's the problem I mentioned in my post above.

I've experienced temperatures (that could cause moist on windows) from -20 to +15 degrees. NEVER EVER did the windows get moisture on them. I only used it when the conditions are needed when it's really (sensible) wet outside and too much moisture goes in or when it's really hot.

What if you don't like dry air during the winter?

(i'm the type who needs a humidifier and lotion in the winter)

Me too, keep using the lotion, the E60 isn't the solution,
but keep the AC "flake" buttom off.

Should escape from the winter climate and move to Florida (Bahamas,
Acapulco) or to southern Spain (Canary Islands) for the winter time.

"What if you don't like dry air during the winter?"

I thought that the E60 automatically turns the compressor on and off to ensure "ideal" humidity? I know that the 7-series does this.

You know that the difference is extremely small => NOT noticeable, don't you?

I have to say I really don't know how the Auto Recirculation work as I always have it on auto but I can still smell everything if I'm following a van with black smoke. :'( I can only hear the flap shut off by pressing the Recirculation on manually.
However the beauty of having this Advanced AC is the Rest function, you can still enjoy the warmth for a while having the engine switched off. I love that.
