My family's first BMW was a maroon 1976 2002. We drove that car for almost 300K miles and we went through two engines on it. We totally modded the suspension and used it a lot at Lime Rock, at autocrosses and at road rallys with the NJ Chapter of the BMWCCA. We loved that car. I can still picture my father's smiling face while driving it hard. Those were great times and our 2002 gave us so much fun and so many memories.

We called it the "two thousand and two".
