This is probably a silly question, but being a new BMW owner, I thought I'd ask.

I've had my 545i for about a month. I love this car. I drive the car like (in my mind) the way it was meant to be driven. I usually take off fast, take curves fast, and generally try to push the car.

Friends of mine tell me I'm "beating" on my car and it won't last as long. I say "the car was built to be driven this way."

What do folks think?

Thanks,
-Rob

I guess I knew this. I just wanted to hear that others love to push their cars, too.

Thanks for the replies.

My driving style is like - cruising along 50% and really pushing 50%.

I bought the car because I like to DRIVE my car when I have the opportunity.

I drive mine like a bat out of hell. Living in the mid-Hudson valley of New York with wonderful scenic back roads and great curves allows me to let my baby have fun, and boy she likes to fly aound those corners at night with the adaptive headlights and sports package. By the way I think there is a state trooper who has been trying to nab me for the past month, fortunately he is always going the opposite direction and I guess he is too lazy to race to the next turn around and then come chase me.

shouldn't be a problem.. you will have more repairs (brake pads, rotors)...other than that, shouldn't be a problem.

Rob, I use the exact same line with my friends. And I drive pretty much the way you do. Almost 11 thousand miles and it's still awesome.
