Before dropping double-check there was nothing left under the hood or undone. Tools can cause wreak havoc on your hood when dropping.

Drop then hit with hammer to be sure it's closed all the way

i have had to do both

pushing down on the nose of the hood is safe

but mostly hope for the slam of the hood to take care of it

I drop it about 18" from closed. but of course the drivers side needs a extra push. I push it at the latch.There are 2 latches.

Now, BTW I was looking at the hood side of the latch, and i saw the screw loose, so I tightened it. It wouldnt tighten then I realized that it is not screwed into the metal but rather the screw is there to expand one of those plastic pieces. So the hood is held down by (2) plastic anchors???

Humm. Well the hood itself carries good weight. What I do is I hold the edge with my hand (palm area), and give it a gentle downward motion. Closes perfectly every time.

Close and press. It's a habit from earlier year BMWs that clamped shut from the driver side interior lever.

my buddy presses down on his new porsche hood (trunk lol), and i can see the metal getting pushed in. makes me cringe.
