Hey It's the Jamaican newbie again, but how do I know if my car 04 530i manual shift, navigation system, logic7, came with a sports pkg. The tires on the car are 245/40R/18 on the front and rears.

the shadowline trim would be your best bet...is the window on the door trims along the outside chrome or black?

black = sport
chrome = non sport

the easiest way would be to take your car to the dealership and have them run your vin...

Check the little box in the engine room with all the thin metal pipes leading to it. It should say "active steering" Also do you have aluminum trim on the steering wheel? Is the trim around your windows black or chrome?

I've never seen a stick shift that wasn't sport equipped, but I don't know whether your market is the same as North America. Over here, a sport car would have shadowline trim and active roll stabilization plus some other minor cosmetic changes. Back in 04, the US sport pack came with active steering too. The 530 didn't have staggered tires irrespective of the presence of a sport package, but if your 18" wheels are stock that's a strong indicator that the car does indeed have the sport package as I recall the standard non-sport wheels were 17" diameter. A couple of pics would help confirm either way (or you could just have the dealer run your VIN if you don't have the original window sticker).

The first check this morning was that indeed the trim is black. I will get all the information i can when i take the car to the dealer and they run the VIN number but hopefully that won't be soon as all the systems seems to be working good according to the I-drive and yes the car also has the active steering box in the engine bay.

seriously non sport bimmers are no fun-have had multiple loaners, fast and slow-but the common thing that made them enjoyable was the sports package-atleast in the US-not much opportunity to push limits of speed but fast cornering and handling can be had with our speed limits and roads

you don't need to take the car in.... a phone call to your dealer with the chassis number is good enough to get them to lookup the standard and additional options put on the car at first registration!!!

No, dealers are not supposed to do this over the phone. Privacy issues.
