How to I clear the faults on 2009 528xi.

 

Find a shop that has Autologic equipment. Alternatively, you can get K-CAN/D-CAN interface from eBay and clear it yourself.

 

Have you tried disconnecting, waiting 30 minutes and reconnecting battery? The lights were probably triggered by low volts, right?

 

Turn the steering wheel lock to lock a couple of times. Should reset the steering angle sensors I believe. Worked for me. 2009 535i xdrive

 

The wife connected the trickle charger until the car started. Then took it for a ride and the faults cleared.

had awd and dsc fault message show in idrive this morning on start-up, but then cleared within 1/2 mile of driving. all that follows seems to be battery related, as I have had issues recently (time/date reset, overnight battery discharge, no interior lights when opening door, low rumble sound when opening door, very slight & slow when starting engine). will have load test placed on battery today.

 

I recently purchased one of these contraptions to keep a baseline of my battery status. It should let me know of any battery issues. It also a vibrator and climax counter. lol

 

BMW battery replacement today with indy, along with fault clearing and re-registering.
