How do cornering lights work?

They are the same lights as the high beams. So when you turn, does it use the same highbeams to shine, but it just doesn't use full power? Our's are H3 or H8 cornering lights.

Only LCI, newer models use cornering lights....use the inner set of lights....H3's.

You only get cornering lights on post May 2007 LCI cars(I'm pretty sure it was with LCI anyway). The high beam on those cars comes from the same xenon light lens as the dipped beam so the inner light lens is a cornering light. On earlier cars the inner light lens is a halogen lamp used for flashing or high beam on non bixenon equiped cars.
