Please help!

:'( My wife spilled coffee in my center a/c vents above the radio, just below the monitor... I cleaned the best I could using q-tips, but i can smell coffee seeped down into behind the wood.

Does anyone have the wood/removal instructions so I can clean it perfect?

I would be so appreciative...

Thanks, do I have to buy that wrench from my BMW parts department? Can I use a pick tool?

I used to be a stereo installer with a full set of tools, but i cant seem to figure out how to pop out the hazard switch. ( Iprobably need that tool)

Does the switch need to come out, just to pop the wood off? I dont want to take everything out, just the wood trim.

I only know what the TIS documents say. I'll speculate that you need to remove the hazard switch to get to the screw that holds the wood in. From there you can gain access to the vents.

As far as the special tool, if you have something that looks like the image, you'll probably be okay...

(Don't blame me if you damage something! )

 

take a look at lomag's post here. i also took some pics while my technician was changing my wood trim. he only used a screw driver to pop the hazard/door lock switch out. but you might want to wrap the screw driver with a paper towel or cloth so that you won't scratch the wood. then you can do the same for the wood dash trim. i can post some pics if you are interested. good luck .
