How to defog windshield/windows quickly on sudden oustide temperature

I am pretty surprised that this is still not automatic with some kind of detector on E60, but anyway. In case it's raining outside and you enter some underground garage, within 20 seconds you can't see anything. Of course there are many situations where this happens and most people have no idea what to do.
I've found that this works best (without opening your windows):
Turn on windshield + rear window heaters. Keep the AC running, turn the auto knob to the right for maximum air throughput. Lower the temperature to the minimum. Make sure outside air is coming in (no recirculation/auto-odors mode, which is a no LED mode.)
Not very comfortable and easy but works really quick.
