Hello,

I am looking to buy winter tires for my new auto.. Anyway a friend is offering me tires that he bought last winter:

Pirelli W210 SOTTOZERO

He had a BMW E60 but he crashed it.. The rims are already sold, but the tires r there.. The tire profil is 6mm deep.. he is selling them to me for a 60? pro tire..

Is the 6mm deep enough for winter?

I know that they r not older then one season cause the DOT is 2004..

Should i buy them or no?

Thanx in advance!

PS. Sorry for my bad English!

huh..

1 millimeter = 0.0393700787 inches

6 millimeters = 0.236220472 inches

I hope this helps!

Is it deep enough?

6 mm isn't very bad. I think you can use them for at least one winter.

I would give him 40 euros for each tire. Are they normal wintertires or runflat wintertires???

I have the dunlop wintersport M3 runflat.

This is important for you to know because if your car has runflat tires chance is that you will not have a spare tire or jack in your car.

The mimimum is 3 mm for a winter tire (by law in Finland).

I would not save on winter tires. The contitions are then the worst they can be and you'll need all the profile you can get (to avoid aquaplanning etc).

A new wintertire has about a 10 mm profile.

My new Dunlop were 8 mm. I beleive you should have at least 4-5 mm (even if less is required by law)
