Does anyone know if there are any incentives or other monetary considerations when dealing on a 2006 model at this point?

I am very interested in an E61, but frankly, a new one is a little out of my price range. So, I've been scanning ads for slightly used ones. They're out there, but none in my immediate area.

A local dealer here has two 2006 wagons that they've had in stock for a long time. I know this 'cause I've been looking for several months, and these wagons don't have the push button start, which I believe means they are pre-Sept production, right?

They are certainly anxious to sell these, and the "offer" I got from them a month or two ago was around $1k over invoice. Now, given the situation, I would think I could get them closer to invoice, but is there any reason to think that I could get them below invoice?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm not aware of anyone getting a BMW below invoice. You might be able to get finance or lease deals from BMWFS but I'm not aware of other incentives. These aren't GM vehicles where they have to pay you to take them off the lot. But as you've noticed, the wagons aren't fast movers either. If you've been a BMWCCA member for at least 12 months you may be able to get $1000 back from BMWNA.

Since the E60/61 series cars can easily be had for $1000-2000 over invoice new, I see no point in someone paying $1000 over invoice for 2006 models. Do note that BMW has a non-traditional holdback of up to 5% of the car's MSRP, so getting a car below invoice is not impossible.

If you have been looking for sometime, why didnt you do European Delivery and get a substantial discount?

When is the car built?

If it is built after October 2005 it is a genuine MY 2006.

The US MY's is a locoal thing of yours and has nothing to do with the BMW MY!

Remember that all E60 are built in Germany.

Buy it and make a hell of an deal!

That's correct. I bought my E61 last October for $1000 under invoice.
