How is the condition of your E60 clear coat? Is it etched like mine?

Myself and at least one other forum member, Buddy, have had ongoing issues with the clear coat on our early model E60's. We have both taken meticulous care of our E60's, but while the clear coat itself is hard, it seems that almost anything, be it bird poop, or rain left on the horizontal surfaces, will etch the clear coat, leaving permanent etches in the clear coat which are unremovable, unless wetsanded down.
The horizontal suraces of my 2004 BMW 530i, look like acne under fluorescent light, the clear coat is etched so badly.
I'd like to see if others are having the same issues as Buddy and I in the hopes that perhaps we could use this to forum to bring what I think is a widespread issue in the BMW E60 paint to BMW NA's attention.

Thanks Adam for the survey I posted some pics a while back hard to see in photos but there and you can actually feel the etchings I think I will at some point have a quality paint shop strip the clear and recoate and see how long this holds up.
Just got a real shock today in that I have not driven the car for over a week (since the snow and I purchased a Ford f150) started it up and got a really bad idle with some valve or lifter knock as if no oil was on tap
it quickly righted itself but caught me by surprise even scared me alittle this is the first time this has happened and I hope it does not happen again
