Bus nav just shows the menu
Pro nav shows the word BMW. Funny how it doesn't show the BMW blue and white propeller symbol.

What does the NA version show on start up? Is it some sort of legal disclaimer. Can someone post a pic please?

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

I have a 2004 545i (no Nav) with CIP 18.x.

Mine just powers up with the stupid warning message immediately.

I was hoping when I got upgraded to 18.x, it would show the BMW screen.

So, after the BMW screen does it go to the warning?

It only shows when the iDrive is booting... and since non-Nav cars boot much faster it just skips that screen all together... You migh have seen it on a non-nav car before, its a possibility since software do hang somtimes...

Could this have to do with the version of software people are running, as well as the country they're in?

After I've read it the first time, I didn't ever want to see it again. But this is BMW's disclaimer, in case you get into an accident caused by taking your eye off the road and looking at the screen you cannot sue them.

It is country dependent - USA. I was hoping it would go away when I installed v18. But, it didn't.

Thanks to the over-abundance of lawyers in the US - actually I take that back. No offense to the lawyers, a lot of the smart ones drive BMW's - it is due to the over-abundance of idiots who sue in the US for thier own stupidity!

I wish BMW would read this and take note. Give me a disclaimer to sign and take off the warning!

A lot of cars are offering Nav features. Do any of the other manufacturers have a warning screen on?

Actually, maybe we need to have a warning on the cup holders in order to open them. "Drinking hot coffee while driving could impact your crouch. Taking your eyes off the road to try and find the stupid location for the holder could cause an accident...."

Sorry, its late and I am running off at the mouth.
