Default Hot/cold air from cabin vents

Have read issues others have had with hot and cold air coming from the vents. My issue is that the defront/windshield vents will blow warm out even if I put on the AC and select the coldest temp possible. Meanwhile the central vents work fine, the AC is good. Then if turn the heat up to the max the defrost vents are good but the central vents don't blow hot. So it's defrost = hot, central = cold.

I have heating if needed, and AC working for cold temperatures. The flaps seem to work as I can adjust the vents, put the blower on max and I can choose between the defrost vents, central or footwell and the air comes rushing out. I just can't get cold air out of the defrost vents and warm air out of the central vents.

Some people say the pump solenoids can fail but if this happened, surely there would be no heat at all?

There are no error messages on INPA. Using INPA I can monitor the live results, again the flaps, AC etc look fine.

Any suggestions welcome.

What are the pump solenoids you're referring to? More than likely your heater valve is leaking internally and needs to be replaced. To check that theory turn on your a/c and check the hoses going towards the firewall. If a hose is warm/hot the you valve needs to be replaced.

Thanks Sean, I was thinking of the solenoid in the water valve (not pump, my fault), the one that sits between the radiator and the heater/AC unit. I will check if the hose with the thermometer probe with the AC on.
