If it stated, left heater valve error, that doesn't necessarily mean the heater valve is the culprit. It could be an open wire, dirty connector, stuck flap, clogged core, etc.

There's no such thing as a left heater valve. Also the IHKA needs to be coded to work properly. The code you stated is not for the valve. You are chancing it with an aftermarket heater valve.

9C6D IHKA: Water valve, left.

Left could mean the location of the valve or the left solenoid.

I'd check the signal first, and +1 to not use a non-OEM part.

Cheers all for the replies and feedback.
sorry, I meant left water valve Sean.

So after driving it yesterday, it seems the passenger side is "ok" in terms of temps, when putting the AC on.

I'll have to check the actual solenoid with a mulit metre to see if it is open and closing.

Thanks again all.

there is a left and right solenoid and thats what the error is talking about. when its right its usually the driver side thats hot. I went thru a million aftermarket ones. one worked for a year or 2 then started again. then after that they would not last long. got a used oem one from a part out and had no issues since. at least until my ihka died.

but yea id try a known good oem unit, check connections and if that doesnt work, check your ihka.
