Hood liner and rubber shrinking

So I was installing RPI scoop (picture below). Didn't test drive it yet, will see how it feels ))

And I noticed that some rubber material shrinking under the hood. Wheather strips, seals and hood liner shrinking. I am attaching one of the pictures of the rubber as well.

Do you think it's normal for the car with 80K miles? I know it suppose to get hot under the hood but is that ok that it even shrinks materials?

Did the clip fall off at the end? If its not on there, it could start shrinking. I have seen it on a few cars.

I've noticed the same thing with my liner. At the ends where it is suppose to snap in the holes in the hood, they are a 1/2 short.

I had the exact same problem, and all I did was slide the entire rubber strip toward the driver's side and strightened the clip and it now sits just fine!

both ends of my mine is like I split a 100 mg Viagra 50 for each side had not worked as of yet.

same here, it seems the hood liner shrunk.
and the rubber strip has to be streched to install.

yeah mine is the front window rubber liner is all cracked, maybe bring it up to the dealer and talk with them about it huh since im under warranty
