Hey Bunbun... I guess you are going the same routine for mod car w/ me...
At first, I'd purchased a set of Wheels and thought that's about it...
Then, I'd get the bodykit...
Now, I'm thinking about the exhaust...

Regarding exhaust options, I'd thought many many times already, here's the list I'd thought about:
1.) Eisenmann - I'd believe the sound and look should be the best. However, no dealer in HK, I need to order directly from Europe, which I think it cost me what too much trouble, thus it's a expensive option.
2.) ACS - $12000 from BMW HK, I can get some kinda discount... I think this is quite expensive for a single side exhaust. (through I'd had a good experience w/ my M Roadster w/ the ACS exhaust)
3.) Hamann - I think $24000 for the exhaust is plain too much...
4.) Remus - $5500 installed, pretty attractive... But I want quad better
5.) I'm thinking about having a local muffler shop to customize a quad exhaust for me, but not sure about the sound/quality... need to do some research first...

Hey gf366

I guess great minds think alike....haha

Where do they sell Remus here in HK? That's cheap for just $5.5k. I checked Eisenmann prices in the US, around US$900 for dual out (not quad, just one side). But of course there's the shipping issue. The thing weighs over 50 lbs. It'll cost an arm and leg

All mods starts with the wheels, if you have an ugly rim you don't want to touch other things.

BTW does Hamann sell their kit as a whole only, can't buy that separately?

Yes they do... I'd originally thought to get ONLY the front and the sides... Auto Design Haus quote me $21000 not installed... Another shop quote me $25000 installed...

I think the front and the sides are the best part for Hamann... Spoiler I'd like the ACS... Rear Apron I'd like M Aero the best...

But well... I'd finally picked M Aero because, Hamann is made of fiberglass... Remember, fiberglass is fiberglass... no matter how good the quality is, it's still fiberglass... And don't forget you are living in HK, you don't want to crash your fiberglass bumper cover by just going to some deep slope for parking garage...

ACS is nice, but this time I have to alliance w/ Bunbun that, I'd believe more in OEM factory quality... If you ever see the raw piece of the M kit, you'll understand my thoughts, it's just a state of art fit and finish... (well, I'm very picky on fit and finish)

Well, again... just my 2cents...

Dude

What is M-tech kit made of then? if not fiber glass. I always thought it was fiber glass....heh heh

The other day I saw a fully suited ACS e60 at City Golf. Their side apron actually look better (sad to admit) than the M-tech's. And it has a small hole/opening to channel air flow to the read brakes (I think), that is good.

I too like OEM parts, that's why I want to change to a bigger OEM rims and get the M front.

I don't think the holes actually work, but got to change my rim first. Do you guys think if I buy mgmbh1's M5 wheels and put it on will there be fender rubbing? The largest size our car can fit is 245 19 for front and 275 19 for rear. The M5 is 255 19 front and 285 19 rear both by 10mm. What should I do

They have had their car for a year and in the second year you bring back to the dealer for maintenance and they charge you for everything according to what my saleman say so doesn't matter if warranty is void or not, correct me if I am wrong.

From what I hear (I could be wrong tho), if your mod is limited to the tail end (muffler) while leaving the mid and header untouched, it will not void the warranty. But I'll make sure of that with my service rep b4 proceeding I'll let u guys know.
