By the way, I read some of the post on previous pages that some of you guys are thinking of putting tint on their cars. I always have tint on my cars and had no problem, until my M5. I received a letter from the transport dept to call my car in for inspection before I left for Germany, and it was for the tint. My tint that I had is not that dark but it looks pretty dark when it's on the car, maybe because I have a black car with black interior. I peeled if off the morning I went for inspection and had it tinted back right after the inspection. Although this time I chose a lighter one, but it still looks dark, probably because of my interior and exterior again!

I must say that without the tint in the summer is a killer! You can feel burn of the sun on your arms, so IMO tint is a must

Which company u use? It seems that as long as the tints have 70% light transmission, then it's ok. I seem to recall that 3M tints have cert from TD, & Waito markets their tints as being legal. I still think the safest way is to order Climate Comfort Windscreen + Glass when ordering car, tho it's an expensive option.

You are correct, the law is to have at least 70% transparency on window. BUT when I took my car in for inspection without any tint on a standard side window it is only 75% transparency, which means it is just within the legal limit. Therefore whatever tint with colour you put on will be over the legal limit, unless you put the 3M clear tint which only cuts out the UV.

Hey but tint makes the car looks better, so imo is worth it

Hi Mic

There is a shop close to BMW service center in Ma tau Wai rd, he does tint for all my cars and does a pretty good job. Leon Lai's and Aaron Kwok's car is also done by him.
