there is a shop in wan chai computer center (the 1 next to mtr) that sells headphones and headphones only, they have quite a few on display that you can try. have u been? I have tried shure and agreed not too impressed even w models costing 1000+. pingy's is quite good I thought, if memory serves, base was a little too slow to my liking, still excellent value at ~400. a lot of the local folks compare the ILUV IEP515 to the s4i, you might want to check it out.
If the S4i are as cheap as they are in the US, i might give it a go and if its not up to the standard i was hoping for then ill just change em again after a while.... Definetely not going the route of those annoying Dr. Dre beats or Pdiddy beats by Monstercable...
