Just leave it installed and press the button whenever you go on ND or SMD... with v2, you have the choice whether its on or not!!! Not like the rest of us who have V1...

 

Even having V2 it is alway full time on red for me

U have 2 in total right? Just make sure your helper is extra small, should fit in the middle in an e60. If ur budget allows however, the x5 is an excellent choice.
