oops, sorry if I touched your wound. but only if you chose one thats too dark, no?
nah, that's william's 3er if I didn't recall it wrong. hope things are fine on that one.

if tint is too dark it violates some traffic rules for sure, but the thing is that we are 'supposed' to register any modification to our car with TD no matter what it is. so even if we put on some 95% transparent tints we still need to register with them.

but yea, most of us don't care too much about this. that's why I didn't try to complain to police when I got caught of speeding or so, will be in big trouble if they "play thing" and tow my car for check.

the beauty of e60 is that u can make it into a very sporty sedan rather than making it a hardcore sportscar like M3, you can see what I threw into my ride at my sig and both my wife and my daughter(who dunno how to talk yet) have no complain on ride quality.
interestingly, when I throw my car at bends:

my mother in law tried to put on a brave face
my wife complains but not scared
kids absolutely love it
mates will try to put their right foot on the invisible brake pedal in front of the passenger seat

I have rear sun blind all round the rear seats as standard I don't have to spend an extra 6K on the tint
That good that you added the sides
I was going to add the side but for the money it cost it just not worth it and also I don't like the looks when the blinds are up.
I never used my real blinds when I am driving.
I only use then when I am parked at open space to block out the sun even more.
6k is well worth it for all 9 glass.

I spoke to a ex school mate who is in the police force. basically, the law is there but rarely enforced and there is some leeway if you can prove that the change from the original spec is for safety purposes, e.g, changes to wider tyres. but like you said, if you are unfortunate enough to meet a cop in bad mood, he can make your life quite miserable. just have bro killbillhk's # on your phone, I am sure he can help to straight things out.
