think flash card does work for a lot of people but didnt work for us and at the end, i came to the conclusion that this doesnt help anything in the short / medium term for local schools.
It did not work for my son too but it is working for my gal.
But I will give both card and object to her so she know which word is for which object.
no point just knowing the word if she dose not know what it is in real life.

i'm not an expert, but since my son's school Photo club chairman just burrowed his lens,
it seems the quality of the lens is the best (its a Nikkor full frame lens and won't fit on the digital ones)
i even got a photo of my car but the size is 35mb so will need to work it before putting it on my sig
Actually, the full frame lens works on the non-full frame DSLRs, I am using mostly full frame lens on my Nikon D2Xs. Also, the non-full frame lens works the other way too with the newer full frame body too like D3, D700... only on the visor you would see the shadowed margin showing the part the camera body won't catch (ie lower res.)

agree on the F10, E60 thing (dou I think I am E39 or less)

my gal is 14mo old and could recognize 50 eng words non stop all correct last nite when my wife play the cards with her. I watched and was like wtf my wife has turned her into a nazi word recognizing machine.
Wow, great job... your wife Started playgroup yet?

With a 9 yrs and a 20 mths, in my experience, it is better to push the kid a little hard the first few years, they wouldn't find it hard work, it is only us talking about childhood and innocence, to them it is the same as watching cartoons, as long as they are with one of you (mom or dad) they would take it like fun... furthermore, as they grow up, they would evetually get lazier anyway.

Yet when they have had a strong foundation since childhood, then later on, when things get much easier for the kid to pick up in class later in life, I bet both you and the kid would know the difference.

Don't forget their EQ thou, I don't know about you guys, a lot of the fresh grads' from the Uni. in HK, they are so wicked, no respect, no remorse... or simply put, they are so self-centred and what's more, most of them are incapable of socialising. THIS, is what I don't like about the local schools, it seemed like we have trained the kids to become an exam machine to finish Uni. but missing out the part to teach the kids to socialise or teach them what's right in life...
