Lung Cheung Road is the perfect road to test your shocks. With 3 wide lanes, windy turns & bumpy road condition, it is the ultimate battleground.

Sorry to drop in for another question!

But may I know what is the suitable tire pressure for the Dunlop Z1 245/40/R18 93W?

I finally got a set of second hand rim (Star spoke 123) & bought a new set of Dunlop Z1 ( thanks to all the advice that help to select the tires), but my question is what should the tire pressure for them? From the lable that stick at the door, it has menetioned that 245/40/R18 93W should use "2.9" for the front & "3.4" for the back , after changing it to lbs, it is 43lbs for the front & 50lbs for the back. It seems a lot for the tires, & I have called the BMW services centre, & they recommended to use 30lbs in the front & 33lbs in the back. It has a big difference to the lable. After the claification, they recommended to use 31lbs in the Front & 37lbs in the back for normal drive.

Anyone using the same tires can give me some advice, please? The new tires that I tried today is very sticky to the ground, (compare to the 225/45/16 that I used before), good for the turns but seems loosing the pick up performance as before (anyway not much pick up from my 525i before, but now it turn to a very safe "family" car). I believed that may be the problem of the tire pressure. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

bigger = heavier and unfortunately thats the price to pay for better grip and sharper steering. you might not have noticed yet but it also has higher unsprung weight which affects handling.

if you want to stick with the size of the rims, you can consider upgrading to forged ones but they are quite expensive.
