I don't know if this would help:

Just did this myself.......i just got the car a week ago(04 545i) had to press the pedal about 10-20% before the car would start moving, as soon as I did the reset I tested it out, now right when I touch the pedal the car is moving no hesitation forcing me to press harder to get it rolling. I also did not hear a noise from the tranny like some others.

came across this older thread about bmw's adaptive transmission....

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=930417

one of the posters explains why this works but not a permanent fix as supposedly the adaptive part is "reset" every time the car is started. not sure who to believe because my SA says it needs time to get used to my driving habits, and a foreman once told me a bmw shared by 2 people with different driving styles is very sloppy.....but i did read something like that of the poster that says it resets every time the cars is started.....

make your own decisions, but it seems like it works for some people and doesn't work for others....to each their own.....

I just went back to see if it was back to its old ways and its accelerating as soon as I press the pedal.....before I had to press it down farther before the car would start moving. Regardless, this is not something Im willing to do everytime I start the car so whatever it does it does....
